Happening at the Library

There are always programs and events happening at our libraries! For a complete list of programs, events, and closures visit our calendar, Facebook, and Instagram for the latest updates. If you prefer a quieter experience at our library branches, we recommend visiting during school hours up to 3:00pm or Saturday mornings, from 9-11am (Cambridge branch). Wednesdays are busy program days with noisier mornings (around Story Time) and busier after-school times at the Cambridge branch. Thursdays are busier at the Hurlock branch when various programs are typically offered. Please plan accordingly or call either branch for further recommendations.

Cambridge Branch Temporary Closure Announcement (STARTING JANUARY 2027):

The Cambridge Branch will close to the public beginning January 1, 2027, for approximately 6–8 weeks while comprehensive ground-level flooring replacement and related building repairs are completed. The project was originally planned for an earlier start, but ongoing issues with the building, including continued water intrusion, moisture, and HVAC-related concerns, have required additional work to be addressed before the flooring project can proceed. The upcoming work will replace water-damaged flooring, improve accessibility, and help protect the health and safety of patrons, staff, and library collections. During the closure, the Hurlock Branch will remain open Monday–Wednesday, 10 AM–6 PM, and Thursday, 11 AM–7 PM, and the Hurlock Book Locker will be available 24/7 for pickup of requested materials. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these necessary repairs and look forward to welcoming you back to an improved Cambridge Branch.

In preparation for this project, all Friends of the Library Book Sales are postponed until further notice and will resume in Spring 2027. This means that the Friends of the Library are unable to accept donated items until after the project’s completion. Please consider donating used books to local second-hand shops like Goodwill, Salvation Army, the Robin Hood Shop, or other local shops/organizations instead.
