Maryland Room

The M. Virginia Webb Memorial Maryland Room Collection, located at the Cambridge Branch, is intended to provide the public with access to a number of resources pertaining to the history and culture of Dorchester County and its surrounding areas, while also serving as a repository for the preservation of some primary and secondary sources.

The Maryland Room Collection contains materials ranging from the creation of Dorchester County and its first settlers through the present day. Materials include microfilm & microfiche, yearbooks, photographs, maps, family histories, and local government documents. Materials in the Maryland Room are non-circulating and cannot be placed on hold.

A smaller Maryland Collection is also available at the Hurlock Branch.

Some materials in this collection are unique or fragile and are not kept in the Maryland Room. Please inquire at the Information Desk to access these materials. For the duration of these materials' use a library staff member will ask to hold onto the patron's identification card.
